Overdue Update

It has been a hot minute since I have last posted here, but I wanted to give everyone a quick update as to what has been going on.

Personally, I have been very busy with club ultimate. It has been mentioned here and there, but ultimate (frisbee) is the other half of my life. With covid restrictions loosening back in July, we were allowed to start hosting practices and going to tournaments again. While summer league has just wrapped up, I was playing 3-4 times a week in the evening, either through league games, practices, and training, so I have had a very hard time fitting FAB into my life as well. If I was lucky, I managed to get in one Armory event once at week, but looking back on it, it was more like once every two week.

I am sure everyone has seen the announcement for Road to Nationals, and it looks like the event numbers will cap at 96 for Canada. I count myself fortunate that our RTN events are scheduled so late into the season, as it has really allowed me to get some form of prep. I’ll be detailing this in another post later on, as this is meant to be a quick update as to why blogging has been fairly inconsistent.

BC’s one and only RTN will be held this coming Saturday, so expect a tournament recap shortly afterwards. Tales of Aria prereleases will be a couple weekends after that, so the FAB events are ramping up very quickly again. From this weekend onwards, it is going to be crazy month for me. It looks like something like this:

This weekend – BC RTN (skipping my ultimate team’s tournament for this actually – when two of your favorite activities/hobbies collide >.<)

Labor Day long weekend – trying to fit in the time to attend my friend’s bachelors + Calgary

Vegas Calling weekend – originally was trying to go to this event, but it is no longer feasible with covid cases rising in the States and with all the rules/extra fees involved with traveling to America, plus this is my birthday weekend

September 17-19 – Tales of Aria prerelease weekend (TC, Infinity, Stronghold)

September 26-27 – Canada Nationals for my ultimate team

October 3 – was supposed to be the other half of Canada Nationals for my other ultimate team, but I am the best man for a wedding

Next few weekends are going to be very wild!
